How to change the DNS setting to Google for the SmartRG SR505N VDSL modem

(if you are having trouble with access to some websites like

SmartRG 505N: Modem Setup (Version and up)

1) Open a web browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, etc.) and go to the address

2) Click the "Basic Configuration" link located in the top right corner.
3) You will now be prompted for your username and password. By default these are as follows:

Username: admin
Password: admin

4)  Advanced, Advanced Setup,  DNS, select Use the following Static DNS ip address:

     Primary DNS server:

     Secondary DNS server:
